Generate an understanding of what the scheme involves and the defects we look out for as defects inspectors under the scheme, so that the architects can optimise their design and documentation for best practice in reducing defects post-occupancy.

Our Speaker of the night will be :

Samuel Star established Archi-QS in 1994 and as the sole owner and director, has been fundamental to the success and good will of his company. He has had over 30 years’ experience in the industry and is reputable for his knowledge, honesty and ability to deliver projects under pressure. Samuel is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FAIQS) and is on both the Building Inspection Panel and the Defects Rectification Costs Panel of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), for the purpose of completing the required inspections, costings and reports to comply with the Strata Building Bond and Inspections Scheme (SBBIS). He is an advocate for quality construction practice that prevents the occurrence of defects, by sharing knowledge with clients, stakeholders and industry peers.

Sarah Bozionelos is the Senior Manager of Archi-QS and has successfully been at the forefront of the company for over a decade. She is the Nominated Architect and Design Practitioner, a member of the Australian Institute of Architects, and has contributed to publications such as Architecture Bulletin and the Built Environment Economist. She has been keeping up with all recent legislative developments aiming to educate industry stakeholders about their new obligations. 

Since late last year, Sarah and Samuel have been busy hosting a number of presentations on the topic of Strata Building Bond and Inspections Scheme.
