Essential learning for all Architects. Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a scientific methodology that can support the efforts of Green Building professionals to build more sustainable buildings. Design professionals need to be aware of how buildings affect climate change.

If you are a studious Architect and passionate about sustainability or just interested in broadening your knowledge base, this informative session with Dr Toktam Tabrizi.

BIO:

Dr Toktam Tabrizi is an educator at the school of Architecture, Design and Planning at the University of Sydney.  She  teaches future Architects/Building designers to design life cycle environmentally friendly buildings.

She also has an experience of working in the construction industry as an environmental designer at Atelier Ten, where she was responsible for:

• Conducting LCA to understand the impact of buildings on the environment.

• Consulting design team to reduce the projects' carbon emissions and achieve the Green Star points for LCA.

Her research focuses on minimising the environmental impacts associated with the life cycle of buildings. she is consistently investigating strategies to simplify the LCA methodology and to enable designers to identify effective variables that contribute to the environmental performance of a building when selecting materials and design strategies at the early design stage and application of the Circular Economy concept at this stage.
