About the presenter :

HARRY HAMOR

Director, Project Manager

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Harry graduated from the University of NSW in 1975, winning a scholarship that enabled him to work on a wide variety of Federal government projects.  After a year spent working on various commercial architectural projects overseas (London) he returned to Australia and worked in the public sector for many years before establishing the practice in 1982.

This included projects for the Department of Administrative Services, the Defence Department, the CSIRO, Telecom, Australia Post and Telstra and Defence.  His qualifications include a Masters Degree in Planning and a Business Diploma. In 1982, he was the Inaugural Visiting Research Fellow in Building at the University of NSW, involved with building practice research, with specific attention to building and planning, brief development and evaluation and investigation and reporting as to Builder 'failures and insolvency’.

He has also been involved in numerous commercial group projects.  His principal practice activities involve feasibility review and programming, development planning, cost planning and critical path management, and project follow-through for the construction contract administration, as the works are then delivered.

He has lectured at UTS, and UNSW in professional practice and management, and has in previous years been an Architectural Accreditations Assessor for the NSW Board of Architects.

He is now responsible for the firms commercial projects and its development of buildability models, with commercial targets to improve project cost effectiveness and delivery methods.

He is presently an active Committee member of the Association of Consulting Architects, with a serious interested in bettering the contractual arrangements and financial returns that architects should be able to achieve.
