Fire safety is a key component of building regulations globally and is a key consideration for all architects. Class 1 buildings can have features taken from the bushfire standard even if the project is not in a bushfire zone. This is becoming more relevant as we look to improve building resilience. Fire-related design issues for Class 2 buildings are still of concern to the NSW Building Commissioner and building surveyors are still finding common errors rife.
Richard Choy will present an overview of the topic before moderating a discussion panel, and questions from the audience.
