AI as a thoughtful partner: Practical, Responsible Ways Architects can Begin

Interactive – Bring your own laptop when you come to the venue

Presented by Kathleen Gray
Monday 31st August

Attend in person (Roseville Golf Club) or join us online via Zoom.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Artificial intelligence is no longer something happening somewhere outside the architectural profession — it is already changing the way practices research, communicate, document, analyse and explore design ideas.

But the important question for architects is not simply:

“What can AI do?”

It is:

“Where can AI genuinely improve our work — without compromising design quality, intellectual property, client trust or professional responsibility?”

Join us for a practical and thought-provoking session with Kathleen, who will explore how architects can begin using AI in meaningful ways within everyday practice.

The session will cover:

• Practical applications
From early research, briefs and feasibility studies to communications, project administration and creative exploration.

• Asking better questions
How to work more effectively with AI tools to achieve clearer, more useful results.

• Cutting through the hype
Separating realistic opportunities from the claims and assumptions surrounding AI.

• Using AI responsibly
Understanding the safeguards needed to protect design quality, intellectual property, confidentiality, client trust and professional responsibility.

Most importantly, this is not a talk about replacing architects with technology.

It is about understanding where AI can become a thoughtful partner — while keeping human judgement, creativity and professional responsibility at the centre of architectural practice.

What you’ll take away

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of:

Where to start. What to try. What to avoid. And where human judgement matters most.
