SPUN, in collaboration with four leading architectural practices, invites students to apply for this sponsored internship program.

Four of the successful applicants will be welcomed into each studio’s vision, culture, and design process, gaining hands-on experience, practical skills, and meaningful exposure to current projects.

Places are limited, and we encourage architectural master students from all backgrounds to apply.

Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to grow your professional confidence, expand your network, and strengthen your portfolio before graduation.

  • Work alongside established architectural teams

Architect Internship Application

Presentation Brief

Presenting like an architect.

Audience
Master’s Architecture Students
(UTS / Western Sydney University / University of Sydney/UNSW)

Purpose
This presentation acts as part of the selection process for one of four available internship opportunities. Students will be evaluated on their passion for architecture, ability to communicate ideas, and professional presentation—not only on technical skill. We want to understand how you think, what motivates you, and why architecture matters to you.

Task
3 – 5 minute video presentation. Present one architectural project of your choosing:

  • Your own studio project, or
  • A project by an architect you admire

Choose something that reflects your values, interests, and curiosity as a designer.

IMPORTANT: Scroll down for presentation structure guidelines.

Once complete, submit your application via the online form on this page.

Applications close: Monday 15th June 2026.

Presentation Structure

Recommended length: 3–5 mins

1. Quick Introduction (20–30 sec)

  • Who you are (name + area of interest)
  • Why you chose this project

2. Project Snapshot (30 sec)

  • Name, location, program
  • Architect (if not your own)
  • One clear sentence summarising the concept

3. Key Ideas (1–2 min)

Explain 2–3 central ideas that show how you think as a designer:

  • What challenge or question does the project address?
  • How does the design respond?
  • What is the architectural ambition?

4. Visuals (1 min)

Show 3–6 strong images:

  • One diagram
  • A plan/section if important
  • A render/photo
  • Keep visuals simple and clear.

5. Why This Project Matters to You (30 sec)

  • What did you learn?
  • How does it shape the kind of architect you want to become?

6. Close (10–15 sec)

One sentence that captures your passion or design identity.

What we are looking for.

Students will be selected based on:

  • Passion and curiosity about architecture
  • Clarity of communication
  • Ability to explain ideas simply and confidently
  • Professional presence and presentation skills
  • Authenticity — your genuine interest in design

This is not about perfection. It is about potential.

Professional Appearance

Present yourself as if attending an architectural interview:

  • Clean, simple, professional attire
  • Understated and contemporary
  • Calm, confident presence

Once complete, submit your application via the online form on this page.
