Networking Event
Flat Roofs and Condensation
Monday 26th February 2024
Flat roofs offer significant advantages for building longevity and occupant health, however proper design and construction are essential for them to work effectively.
Attend this evening with Daniel Jakobs (aka AIRBOSSDAN) from ProClima and learn about how to manage moisture in flat roof buildups that trap condensation and water.
This will be outlined in two ways, giving consideration to:
- Why it’s important – Flat roofs are prone to moisture buildup due to condensation and trapped water. This can damage the roof and create unhealthy conditions inside your home. A ventilated cavity helps prevent these problems by letting the roof “dry out.”
- What to watch out for – Even with a cavity, condensation can still happen. To prevent this, a separate waterproof layer below the roof panels is crucial. This stops leaks and protects the insulation.
Learn the key benefits and things to consider when designing a flat roof and managing the longevity of the building for clients through good building envelope design.
